FIA LAUNCHES NEW PRESIDENT’S AWARDS

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) announces the creation of a new FIA Presidential Awards scheme to honour and celebrate the FIA Member Clubs whose commitment brings positive change to the FIA community and society at large.

From 15 September to 15 October 2022, all FIA Members Clubs (ASN, ACN and Mobility Clubs) are invited to apply for the three following Awards:

  • FIA President’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award – Recognising outstanding commitment to diverse and inclusive practices and activities that foster equitable, sustainable and measurable change.
  • FIA President’s Climate Action Award – Acknowledging innovative solutions, mitigation measures and bold actions that help Club members and the wider community to tackle environmental challenges.
  • FIA President’s Road Safety Award – Shedding light upon the most effective intervention by an FIA Member Club to improve road safety and build a culture of safe mobility, contributing to the reduction of road fatalities.

The creation of these awards will give public recognition to the significant work carried out by FIA Member Clubs to bring sustainable and measurable change within the FIA community and society. This acknowledgment will act as a catalyst for other initiatives around the world, uniting Member Clubs in a collective movement that will spark new, innovative and visionary ideas, inspire the FIA community and change mindsets.

By raising awareness on these issues and by highlighting existing solutions, these Awards will contribute to the achievement of the global sustainable development goals which are central to the FIA’s mission.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “Every day, our Member Clubs are engaged in activities that help to build a better future, where safe, sustainable and accessible motor sport and mobility for all are a reality. The new FIA President’s Awards are a great opportunity for them to showcase what they are doing in their country and be publicly acknowledged for it by the FIA and the global community. I invite all FIA Member Clubs to join this new initiative with enthusiasm and share their achievements with the entire FIA Family.”

The application process is done entirely online on the following page: www.fia.com/fia-president-awards

The closing date for the submission of applications is 15 October 2022. All applications will be assessed by a qualified jury against five evaluation criteria: relevance, legacy, innovation, sustainability, and impact.

The winners of the 2022 FIA President’s Awards will be announced during the FIA Annual General Assembly in December 2022.
